New Delhi, Jan 31 — Indian Premier League franchise Kings XI Punjab Thursday named former Australia batsman Darren Lehmann as their new coach.

"I am extremely honoured to get a chance to coach Kings XI Punjab in this year's IPL. I'm looking forward to working with Adam Gilchrist again and help all the players grow on and off the field," said Lehmann in a statement issued by the team.

Lehmann had coached the now defunct Deccan Chargers.
