Irani Cup: Vijay hits century as ROI make 330/5

Mumbai, Feb 6 (IANS) Murali Vijay struck a fine century and helped Rest of India (ROI) reach 330 for five against Mumbai on day one of the Irani Cup at the Wankhede Stadium here Wednesday.

Mumbai, Feb 6 — Murali Vijay struck a fine century and helped Rest of India (ROI) reach 330 for five against Mumbai on day one of the Irani Cup at the Wankhede Stadium here Wednesday.

Openers Vijay (116) and Shikhar Dhawan (63) shared a 144-run stand to set the foundation for a big score.

At close of play, Suresh Raina (36) was batting alongside Harbhajan Singh, who was yet to open his account.

Mumbai did not bowl well in the morning after opting to field.

The other contributions for ROI came from Ambati Rayudu (51) and Manoj Tiwary (37).
