Los Angeles, Feb 21 (IANS) With their owner Jerry Buss passing away Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers posted an emotional win over the Boston Celtics in NBA league.

Los Angeles, Feb 21 — With their owner Jerry Buss passing away Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers posted an emotional win over the Boston Celtics in NBA league.

Buss was remembered before the game, and Kobe Bryant gave a speech.

"On Monday, we lost what we all know to be the greatest owner in sports, ever," Bryant was quoted as saying by Xinhua Wednesday.

"He was a brilliant, incredible owner, but he was even a better person with a great heart. His vision transcended the game, and we are all spoiled by his vision and by his drive to win year after year after year. "

The Lakers were behind for a while in the opening quarter, then they dominated the board, as well as the game, and led all the way to the end for a 113-99 result. The Lakers had 49 rebounds comparing the Celtics' 34.

Dwight Howard had 24 points and 12 rebounds while Bryant added 16 points. Steve Nash contributed 14 points and 7 assists, giving him 10,144 assists while passing Magic Johnson for sole possession of fourth place on the career list.

Celtics' Pierce scored 26 points, Courtney Lee had.

Houston Rockets Are Being Miscast as NBA's New “Heel” Team

Nov 3 2014 2:40pm CST | Source: Bleacher Report

With the rage directed at Dwight Howard, James Harden and general manager Daryl Morey, the Houston Rockets have become favorite enemies of the modern NBA—even if they don’t deserve to be. Howard’s negative reputation needs little introduction. He’s seen as having whined his way out of his franchise role with the Orlando Magic and being too sensitive to withstand the consistently harsh critiques that went with playing for Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers. He’s also widely known fo ...

Jeremy Lin Is The Jedi Padawan To Kobe Bryant’s Yoda When It Comes To Ball-Hogging

Nov 3 2014 11:50am CST | Source: SportsGrid

If NBA players were Jedi Masters, there’s no doubt that the aging Kobe Bryant would be Yoda — even in his weakened state, he’s still one of the best there is. There aren’t clear cut analogies for every player (is LeBron Darth Vader, or Obi-Wan?), but suffice to say that Jeremy Lin is more padawan trainee than full-fledged Jedi. He’s still learning the ropes. So it was pretty great to see Lin, who we know can take over ...

NBA Scores: Depleted Thunder getting it done & 3 other things we learned Saturday night

Nov 2 2014 7:00am CST | Source: SBNation

The Thunder reserves keep it going with Durant and Westbrook out and other things we learned around the NBA on Saturday night. You knew it was desperate times in Oklahoma City when, badly needing a bucket to end a 8-0 Denver run to start the fourth quarter, they went to Kendrick Perkins twice. And he scored. Twice. The short-handed Thunder had just eight healthy players on Saturday night but quickly jumped on the Nuggets in Oklahom ...
