Lagos, April 17 (IANS) The Nigerian Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has called on all levels of the government to endeavour to sponsor other sporting activities, besides football.

Lagos, April 17 — The Nigerian Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has called on all levels of the government to endeavour to sponsor other sporting activities, besides football.

President of the federation Kayode Omotoshe made the appeal in central north Kwara State Wednesday, saying that table tennis also engages the youth, who are vulnerable to social vices and malice in the society, reports Xinhua.

Omotoshe appealed to other levels of government to shift attention to other sports, to enhance their development and not for any "imaginary" tussle with football.
