Birmingham, June 11 — Australia captain Michael Clarke has not yet recovered from a chronic back injury and will miss out on his side's second league match against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy here Wednesday.

Cricket Australia Physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said: "Michael is continuing to have intensive treatment in London, and whilst he is making good progress, he has not improved sufficiently enough to play the game against New Zealand on Wednesday. We will continue to monitor his progress and determine his availability for next week's final group game against Sri Lanka."

Clarke had missed Australia's warm-up matches and their tournament opener against England. George Bailey will continue to lead the team in his absence.

Aug 31 2014 10:51am CDT | Source: Bleacher Report

Zimbabwe vs. Australia: Highlights, Scorecard and Report from Triangular Series

Aug 25 2014 11:18am CDT | Source: Bleacher Report

Australia kicked off their Tri-Series campaign in style on Monday as they disposed of hosts Zimbabwe with minimal fuss at the Harare Sports Club. The Aussies reached 350/6 as their 50 overs ticked by, and while Zimbabwe were always going to be up against it as they came in to bat, they barely scratched the surface.   The hosts’ haul of 152 all out gave Australia the 198-run victory that their cricket deserved courtesy of some phenomenal bowling and batting—as the sc ...
