Daruvala secures double podium in British Karting

Jul 9 2013, 7:54am CDT | by

London, July 9 (IANS) Indian driver Jehan Daruvala was back on the podium last weekend at the third round of the KFJ British Kart Championships in Larkhall, Scotland.

London, July 9 — Indian driver Jehan Daruvala was back on the podium last weekend at the third round of the KFJ British Kart Championships in Larkhall, Scotland.

The 14-year-old was on the pace from the start of practice and finished second and third successively in the two heats on Saturday afternoon.

Daruvala then repeated that performance on Sunday, picking up points for two podium finishes. The strong showing saw him end the event second overall.

The result keeps Daruvala in the hunt for the 2013 KFJ Series crown as he is just 13 points behind leader Daniel Ticktum.

The Sahara Force India Academy driver will be back in action at Clay Pigeon, in Dorset, at the end of August for the fourth round of British Series.

Force India driver mentor Terry Fullerton said: "Daruvala showed great pace all weekend and finished a very close second in the third round of the series at Larkhall. It was important to pick up enough points to strengthen his position in the championship and with three events still to go he is very much in the hunt for the KFJ crown."

Daruvala was satisfied with his effort. "Qualifying went well and I finished the first heat in second place. For the second heat I came third, but I was able to match the pace of the drivers ahead of me. In the opening final, I started second and finished second, just half a second behind the winner. In the second final, I was determined to try to take the lead on lap two, but the move didn't work out and I dropped down to third."

Bold Predictions for the 2015 Rugby World Cup Final a Year Away

Oct 31 2014 8:28am CDT | Source: Bleacher Report

The 2015 Rugby World Cup final at Twickenham is exactly a year away. My prediction is for an England-New Zealand final. This is based on how the draw will pan out and England’s home advantage. England, at home, should beat Wales and probably Australia in the tough Pool A. Being in the hardest group has distinct advantages for the team who tops it, with the reward of a favourable knockout draw. Should England top the Pool, they are likely to face eith ...

Miliband is approaching the point of no return. He must now come out fighting.

Oct 29 2014 3:42pm CDT | Source: the guardian

Labour needs to reconnect in southern marginals or raise its game in Scotland. Better still, do bothThe north Kent constituency of Rochester and Strood, where probably the most consequential byelection of this parliament will take place in three weeks time, is a seat that a strong Labour party could win. A confident Labour party certainly ought to be in strong contention. Instead, Ed Miliband seems resigned to finishing third behind the Conservatives and Ukip. No part o ...
