WWE: Judge Orders Arrest of Ric Flair Over Spousal Support Payment

Jul 17 2013, 5:59pm CDT | by

Former wrestler "Nature Boy" Ric Flair was ordered arrested by a judged for failure to comply with his monthly spousal support payments.

Former wrestler "Nature Boy" Ric Flair was issued an arrest warrant.

A judge in Charlotte, N.C. ordered Flair to be arrested for allegedly failing to pay over $32,000 in spousal support, per the Charlotte Observer's Cleve R. Wootson, Jr. Flair, whose real name is Richard Fliehr, was ordered to pay $4,000 monthly to his estranged wife Jaqueline Beems to support her car payment, health insurance and legal fees. Beems filed for legal separation last summer

Court documents show Flair didn't pay a sum of $32,352.51 which is owed Beems. Wootson notes the famous ex-wrestler, who said he'll pay Breems on Wednesday, can avoid jail time if he covers the entire amount.

Beems' attorney, Brad Smith, says Flair paying up would get him out of trouble with the law.

"He would purge himself of having to go to jail if he would pay the check, if he would pay in full the total amount he owes, up to date."

Flair's reasons for the unpaid sum were his son's death due to a toxic combination of heroin and prescription drugs and his own hospitalization.

"The reason I didn't pay my ex-wife the 32 grand is because my son died and I was in the hospital for a month. I was in the hospital for a month with a blood clot. I didn't go to work for three months."

It also seems Beems is facing legal troubles of her own.

Peter Gicas of E! Online writes Beems was charged on July 16 for making harassing phone calls to Flair's girlfriend, Wendy Barlow Kidder. Brees was eventually released on a $500 unsecured bond.

Smith says claims of phone harassment can be made without an investigation under North Carolina law.

"There doesn't have to be any police involvement. There doesn't have to be any proof."

Flair and Beems got married in November 2009. Just three months afterward, Beems was charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly attacking Flair, who said it had all been a misunderstanding and that Beems was innocent.

WWE Missed Opportunities: Brock Lesnar vs. Batista

Oct 31 2014 4:10pm CDT | Source: Bleacher Report

At WWE Hell in a Cell, John Cena defeated Randy Orton to earn a shot at reclaiming the WWE World title from Brock Lesnar. Whenever that match takes place, it will almost certainly be on a WWE pay-per-view event, which will mark the fifth time the two stars have battled on a big stage. WWE has recognized the potential of a feud between these two men as it pits one of the biggest heroes in company history against one of its most disliked villains. And though Lesnar and Cena were des ...

Workrate Wars: Why Do Some WWE Fans Seem to Hate Wrestling so Much?

Oct 29 2014 7:00am CDT | Source: Bleacher Report

I shouldn't have been shocked when I checked the internet for feedback after WWE's latest incarnation of Hell in a Cell. I thought the show was tremendous, starting strong with a surprise hit from the Bella Twins and culminating with an ode to the Attitude Era, a classic bit of wacky wrestling that was bound to get people talking.  But I've been around the internet wrestling community (IWC) for almost two decades. I knew better than to expec ...
