NBA: Denver Nuggets, Nate Robinson Agree to 2-Year, $4-M Deal

Jul 22 2013, 6:56pm CDT | by

The Denver Nuggets reached a deal with point guard Nate Robinson for a two-year, $4-million deal on Monday.

Nate Robinson is headed to the Mile High City.

Robinson reached an agreement with the Denver Nuggets for a two-year deal reportedly worth $4.03 million, per the Denver Post's Benjamin Hochman. The deal is for the bi-annual salary cap exception.

He tweeted his sentiments shortly thereafter, saying he will miss playing for the Chicago Bulls

"Chicago will always have a place in my heart I'm a miss all my teammates it was a treat playing along side of all of them stand up guys

"I know the nba is a Business but when u build friendships with guys on the team it's hard to say goodbye...Thanks again chitown one love"

Robinson's impending signing is a welcome relief for Nuggets management and fans, who have had to endure an offseason which saw the firing of 2013 NBA Coach of the Year George Karl as well as the departure of former general manager Masai Uriji to the Toronto Raptors, Andre Iguodala to the Golden State Warriors and Corey Brewer to the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Nuggets' latest acquisition should complement the signing of free agent forward-center J.J. Hickson, who played for the Portland Trail Blazers last season, to a three-year deal nearly two weeks ago.

Robinson is projected to see action at both guard spots, joining Andre Iguodala, Ty Lawson, Randy Foye and Evan Fournier in the Denver backcourt. As a member of the Nuggets, he will be reunited with his former New York Knicks teammates Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler

He averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 assists last season with the Bulls.

Isaiah Thomas Felt “Disrespected” By Kings

Jul 24 2014 12:11pm CDT | Source: dime mag

Maybe because 5-9 point guard Isaiah Thomas was the last pick (N0. 60) in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Kings just couldn’t see past his height and a lack of hype after coming out of the University of Washington. Like fellow Pacific Northwest guard, Nate Robinson, Thomas kept surprising prognosticators who didn’t think he had […] The post Isaiah Thomas Felt “Disrespected” By Kings appeared first on Dime Magazine (dimemag.com) : Daily NBA News, NBA Trades, NBA Rum ...

Dante Exum's Strong Summer League Start Is an Encouraging Sign for Utah Jazz

Jul 13 2014 12:24am CDT | Source: Bleacher Report

Yes, it's only the NBA Summer League, but the early returns on Dante Exum are at the very least encouraging for the Utah Jazz. All you need to know about the Las Vegas Summer League is that it had Nate Robinson's jersey retired. That's how serious it is. As an indicator of future success, the summer league is about as reliable as watching a movie trailer and then gauging its Oscar candidacy. With that said, fans will always want to see their te ...

Could Jimmer Fredette Be Tom Thibodeau's Next Point Guard Project?

Jun 15 2014 9:22am CDT | Source: Bleacher Report

Jimmer Fredette might not be at the top of the list of things Bulls fans are talking about this offseason. In fact, he’s probably not even an afterthought. But, if the Bulls decide to keep him around, he could be the next point guard Tom Thibodeau turns around. Look at the history of NBA quarterbacks whose careers the Bulls’ head coach has boosted: C.J. Watson, John Lucas III, Nate Robinson and D.J. Augustin. They all have certain things in common. Ea ...

Playing Keep or Cut with Each of the Chicago Bulls' Free Agents

Jun 12 2014 7:29pm CDT | Source: Bleacher Report

With a big free-agency period coming for the Chicago Bulls, the front office will have to decide the fate of four of the team's free agents. Just about everyone in the world believes the Bulls will pursue Carmelo Anthony this summer. That would mean clearing as much cap space as possible, since Melo will command a big-time contract. However, the decision might not be as easy as just releasing everyone. D.J. Augustin was a saving grace in 2013-14, serving as Chicago' ...

Q+A: Ty Lawson

Jun 9 2014 4:10pm CDT | Source: slamonline

Ty Lawson has been in the news a fair amount of late. On the evening of May 20th, moments after the NBA Draft lottery took place, the Denver Nuggets point guard tweeted, “How many number one picks is Cleveland gonna get smh… Yes I’m hating[.]” Then, in an interview with the Denver Post last week, the 26-year-old said that, weeks after suffering an ankle injury, he was still unable to run. Most recently, in an interview focused on hip-hop, Lawson told XXL Ma ...

Jahii Carson has been getting it done at every level for a minute now. From Mesa HS to the AAU circuit with the Compton Magic to the PAC-12 with Arizona State, he has put up big numbers. Having been named to the All Pac-12 fist team during his first two seasons in Tempe, it was only fitting that the next challenge be the NBA. While academics kept Carson off of the hardwood in ’11-12, he didn’t miss a beat once he was cleared for takeoff. He was third in the conference in scoring as a f ...

Best Value Free Agents for Chicago Bulls to Pursue

Jun 4 2014 2:28am CDT | Source: Bleacher Report

With the Chicago Bulls expected to make pricey, high-profile runs at Kevin Love and Carmelo Anthony this summer, the front office will have its hands full filling out the rest of the roster on a budget. Pulling off a trade for either superstar will effectively gut the team's depth while giving it one of the strongest starting units in the league. As Basketball Insiders' Nate Duncan and Eric Pincus note, there are a number of scenarios in which s ...
