NBA: Denver Nuggets, Nate Robinson Agree to 2-Year, $4-M Deal

Jul 22 2013, 6:56pm CDT | by

The Denver Nuggets reached a deal with point guard Nate Robinson for a two-year, $4-million deal on Monday.

Nate Robinson is headed to the Mile High City.

Robinson reached an agreement with the Denver Nuggets for a two-year deal reportedly worth $4.03 million, per the Denver Post's Benjamin Hochman. The deal is for the bi-annual salary cap exception.

He tweeted his sentiments shortly thereafter, saying he will miss playing for the Chicago Bulls

"Chicago will always have a place in my heart I'm a miss all my teammates it was a treat playing along side of all of them stand up guys

"I know the nba is a Business but when u build friendships with guys on the team it's hard to say goodbye...Thanks again chitown one love"

Robinson's impending signing is a welcome relief for Nuggets management and fans, who have had to endure an offseason which saw the firing of 2013 NBA Coach of the Year George Karl as well as the departure of former general manager Masai Uriji to the Toronto Raptors, Andre Iguodala to the Golden State Warriors and Corey Brewer to the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Nuggets' latest acquisition should complement the signing of free agent forward-center J.J. Hickson, who played for the Portland Trail Blazers last season, to a three-year deal nearly two weeks ago.

Robinson is projected to see action at both guard spots, joining Andre Iguodala, Ty Lawson, Randy Foye and Evan Fournier in the Denver backcourt. As a member of the Nuggets, he will be reunited with his former New York Knicks teammates Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler

He averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 assists last season with the Bulls.

Lorenzo Romar and Washington basketball are staring down a crossroads season

Nov 3 2014 2:44pm CST | Source: SBNation

It's been a decade since the Washington Huskies were a Final Four favorite and Lorenzo Romar was one of the hottest coaching names in Division-I. Now both are looking to show signs of being able to get back to that place. Every major college basketball fan base owns a healthy dread of irrelevancy, a fear of that rapid fall from grace that leads to national columnists across the country spending ...

DENVER — With key players returning from injury and still rounding into form, the Denver Nuggets leaned on Kenneth Faried. Faried had 22 points and 17 rebounds and the Nuggets opened the season with an 89-79 victory over Detroit, spoiling Stan Van Gundy’s first game at the Pistons’ coach on Wednesday night. "He was huge for us right from the beginning of the game," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. "Aggressive, getting good position down low. Got the ...

Nuggets Gallinari anxious after missing 18 months

Oct 28 2014 6:44pm CDT | Source: Sportsnet.ca

DENVER — Danilo Gallinari’s every moment on the court will be closely tracked and monitored. For now, no more than 20 minutes a game for the Denver Nuggets forward, no matter how well he’s playing, how tight the game may be or how much he pleads. It’s a restriction Gallinari can tolerate. Sure, he feels like he could play way more than that, but he doesn’t want to press his luck. His left knee is finally strong again after three surgeries and nearly 18 months away. Gallinari will return to ...
