Shooting guard Mike Miller is returning to the Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis' WMCTV 5 confirms Miller has reached an agreement with the team, although the Grizzlies have not yet made any formal announcement. He played for Memphis from 2002-08, averaging a career-high 18.5 points per game in the 2006-07 NBA season.

Yardbarker.com reveals the deal is for two years.

Miller himself also affirmed the deal with the Associated Press on Wednesday. This comes a week after the defending NBA champions Miami Heat designated him to be an amnesty player, ending his three-year tenure with them. He is still owed $12 million by the Heat over the next two seasons - an amount which will not count against their salary cap or luxury tax.

He couldn't be more excited about his next tour of duty, per the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel.

"I feel great. I feel great. I'm excited about the next spot. I'm re-energized. I really am. I'm just feeling healthy. I'm ready to play. I started to get back in there again last week and I can't wait to play again next year. Honestly, it's disappointing, because, I think, being a part of this and going for a three-peat would have been an unbelievable ride and a story. But I've been blessed, as well. I came here and got two championships and I can't thank them (Heat) enough for the opportunity."

Miller, who still owns a house in Memphis, reportedly wanted to commit to a contender. The Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets were also seen to be interested in his services.

Him signing with the Grizzlies should be a welcome development after battling an assortment of injuries in the past four seasons, even considering retirement after the Heat's first NBA title in 2012.

The 33-year-old Miller played in 59 games forr Miami in 2012-13, averaging 4.8 points.
