The Chicago Cubs traded starting pitcher Scott Feldman to the Baltimore Orioles on Monday.

In exchange, the Cubs received Jake ArrietaPedro Strop and international bonus money from Baltimore. Chicago also included minor league catcher Steve Clevenger as part of the deal, according to the Chicago Tribune's Paul Sullivan.

MLB's official website says the exact figure for the bonus money is $338,100.

Prior to the trade, Feldman had a 7-6 record and a 3.46 ERA for Chicago. He told MLB Radio he will make his Orioles debut against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday.

Baltimore executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette believes Feldman will stabilize their pitching rotation.

"He's a proven veteran starting pitcher, and he should help stabilize our rotation in the second half of the season."

The Baltimore Sun notes Arrieta was the team's Opening Day starter a season ago. He was 1-2 with a 7.23 ERA in 2013.

Arrieta will be sent down to Triple-A Iowa to make him feel acclimated, per Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer.

"We feel like getting him acclimated, we'll start him off there, and from that point I'm not sure (of) a time frame or what happens. Kind of get him comfortable and have him pitching in the same environment that he was pitching in Baltimore."

Duquette believes the trade will be a fresh start for Arrieta.

"Somtimes a change is indicated. This will be a fresh start for Jake and I wish him a lot of luck."

Strop, just like Arrieta, has been struggling. He actually had a 1.43 ERA last August and has since been trying to regain his old form. Strop is 0-3 with a 7.25 ERA this season.

Clevenger, a Baltimore native, will be optioned to Triple-A Norfolk
