The Los Angeles Clippers will trade backup point guard Eric Bledsoe to the Phoenix Suns which will in turn land the Clippers coveted shooting guard J.J. Redick

Three teams - the Clippers, Suns and Milwaukee Bucks - were all involved in the trade agreement which was reached on Tuesday. Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times says Bledsoe and small forward Caron Butler will go to Phoenix while former Sun Jared Dudley will now be a Clipper alongside Redick. The Bucks will receive second-round draft picks from Phoenix and Los Angeles.

Milwaukee is said to have facilitated the deal with a sign-and-trade of Redick, who will receive $27 million over four years with the Clippers. The trade was confirmed to have been completed by Tuesday afternoon - a span of 24 hours.

Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports new Clippers executive vice president and head coach Doc Rivers had dinner with Redick on Tuesday night. Sources say the Clippers' status as championship contenders was what Redick desired.

Rivers was also willing to let Bledsoe go upon starting point guard Chris Paul's commitment to sign with the Clippers for another five years at $107 million, per Wojnarowksi.

Redick averaged 14.1 points and 3.8 assists for the Orlando Magic and Milwaukee Bucks in 2012-13. Dudley posted near identical stats for the Suns with 14.3 points and 4.1 rebounds. Bledsoe chipped in with 8.5 points and 3.1 assists while the veteran Butler contributed 10.4 points per game last season.
