According to Denver's ABC 7 News, the alleged domestic violence incident took place last Saturday in Arapahoe County. The report states "The 25-year-old Lawson was arrested by sheriff's deputies on investigation of harrassment that includes either striking, shoving or kicking as well as property damage, court records state. Both charges are misdemeanors. The incident requres a mandatory restraining order."
This apparently isn't Lawson's first brush with the law.
He was also arrested on January 29 for flight to avoid prosecution on a misdemeanor case. In April 2012, he was cited in the same county for reckless driving, driving with a license under restraint and permitting an unauthorized person to drive.
Lawson was released on a $1,000 bond for his latest misdemeanors, per the Denver Post's Ryan Parker.
This latest development is just part of a string of misfortunes that have hit the franchise, per USA Today Sports' Jason McIntyre. Danilo Gallinari was injured in April and then the Nuggets were eliminated by the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs' first-round series.
McIntyre also adds the departures of GM Masai Uriji, head coach George Karl and forward Andre Iguodala which may affect Denver's long-term future.
