Beynon Sports’ Products Achieve GREENGUARD GOLD Certification

Aug 21 2013, 3:21am CDT | by PR.com

Hunt Valley, MD, August 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Beynon continues to lead the way going green in the running track and sports flooring industry.

Beynon Sports’ continued effort to lead the industry in sustainable products has taken a major step forward with the recent GREENGUARD GOLD certification. GREENGUARD, a UL Environment company, reviews, tests and certifies environmentally-friendly building materials under their strict GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD GOLD accreditation programs.

“The GREENGUARD GOLD certifications are a testament to Beynon’s commitment to providing not only the highest performing indoor athletic surfaces,” commented Beynon COO Drew Beynon, “but also the most eco-conscious sports flooring products in the market today.”

“These certifications help to show what Beynon Sports is all about,” said Beynon Vice President of Research and Development Mike Gasparovic. “Not only developing the most advanced athletic flooring, but also the safest surfaces for both the athlete and the environment.”

Beynon Sports Surfaces’ PolyTurf®, PolyTurf Plus®, PolyTurf Pad & Pour®, and BSS 1000® have passed the rigorous testing processes and received GREENGUARD GOLD certification, the highest rating available through GREENGUARD. The testing confirmed that the products were free from over 10,000 potentially hazardous chemicals and had no VOC emission levels. Institutions installing these athletic surfacing systems will help keep the levels of harmful pollutants down in their facilities while providing their student athletes with the resilient sports floor they have come to expect from Beynon Sports.

About GREENGUARD

GREENGUARD Certification is part of UL Environment, a business unit of UL (Underwriters Laboratories). GREENGUARD Certification helps manufacturers create--and help buyers identify--interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used. UL Environment acquired GREENGUARD in 2011, further advancing its mission of promoting global sustainability, environmental health, and safety.
