Free-agent forward Lamar Odom is not missing, contrary to earlier reports that he was.

According to ESPN Los Angeles, Odom is holed up in a local hotel "where friends are trying to get him help for an unspecified drug problem." His agent Jeff Schwartz told ESPN's Marc Stein that "Lamar is not missing. His wife knows exactly where he is."

Schwartz also made it clear that "Playing in the NBA is still very much a part of Lamar's plans."

The Huffington Post, which featured an ESPN tweet saying Odom is in an L.A. hotel, confirmed from Odom and Khloe Kardashian's representatives that "he is not missing."

These updates put to rest an earlier TMZ report which says Odom had been missing for three days after his wife, Kardashian, threw him out of their house.

Kardashian herself blasted this on her Twitter account, saying it's "reallly hard to sit here and listen to people to talk s--- about my family! F--- you and shame on you!"

TMZ earlier reported that Odom had been battling drug problems for two years, citing sources with knowledge of the situation. It added he went through rehab last summer and remained drug-free in his tenure with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2012-13.

However, Odom was said to have used "hardcore recreational drugs" at the conclusion of the season, per the Huffington Post.

A source disclosed to People magazine that Kardashian has struggled to save her marriage to Odom for two years.

"It's a really hard time for Khloe. She's kept this secret for almost two years trying to save Lamar and their marriage."

The 33-year-old Odom is entering his 15th NBA season and has career averages of 13.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He has two NBA championship rings with the Los Angeles Lakers who won back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010.

USA Basketball can never be fixed

Aug 29 2014 8:56am CDT | Source: SBNation

Jerry Colangelo and Mike Krzyzewski have made Team USA win again, but the structural program problems still exist and always will. A decade ago, USA Basketball suffered its worst humiliation ever: a bronze medal in the Athens Olympics. After going undefeated en route to three straight gold medals, the Americans lost three games in one tournament. Most nations would be thrilled with bronze. For the United States, it was a stunning disappointment fresh off the heels of a disastrous ...

Without its stars, Team USA decides to go with size

Aug 24 2014 1:20pm CDT | Source: SBNation

Obviously, USA Basketball won't look the same without stars like Kevin Durant, but the rise of Anthony Davis and the inclusion of three true centers gives this team a more classical look. Under director Jerry Colangelo and coach Mike Krzyzewski, USA Basketball has acted fluidly in making decisions about its final rosters. National team training camps have truly acted as tryouts. Phil ...

The Mecca in Decline

Jul 31 2014 8:06am CDT | Source: Grantland

They sit in a Harlem church basement or a south Brooklyn deli, at an elite high school in Queens or a failing middle school on the Lower East Side, near Madison Square Garden or the Cage or the Rucker or some other calcified shrine, and they explain what their city has lost. Once, New York was home to more basketball talent than any other city on the planet. No more. As for what changed, theories vary. An older scout says it ...
