Manhattan, NY, October 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Slacklining, a thrill sport, is the act of balancing on a dynamic one-two inch wide length of flat webbing that is low to the ground. It’s like a marriage of tightrope-walking and trampoline acrobatics. Experienced slackliners defy gravity with their tricks. New Yorkers can try out their balance-and-bounce skills at the free Get Balanced - Slacklining 101 Expo, on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 12:00 – 4:00 pm at Hudson River Park’s Pier 84, (at West 44th Street), New York City.

Sponsored by Gerolsteiner Sparkling Mineral Water, the world’s leading brand of natural, ‘balanced’ mineral water, the expo will feature free professional aerobatic exhibits every hour, hosted by Gibbon Slacklines, the slackline pro’s first choice in equipment. There will also be free training clinics for adventurous New Yorkers of all ages who would like to try slacklining for themselves. Space is limited; pre-registration for the clinics is recommended. Visit getbalanced.eventbrite.com to secure a timeslot. Onsite registrations will also be available. All training clinic participants will not only get bragging rights, but also a commemorative T-shirt.

With live performances from Gibbon’s professional champions, spot prizes and free Gerolsteiner Sparkling Mineral Water to keep everyone fueled and balanced, it’s the event of the season for thrill-seekers of every stripe and spectators alike.

About Gerolsteiner: Not all waters are created equal.
Gerolsteiner is more than just another bottled water. Gerolsteiner water comes from Gerolstein, Germany, straight from the Volcanic Eifel, where due to the unique combination of carbonic acid from ancient volcanic activity and the dolomite rock known for its rich mineral content, a mineral water of the highest quality is created. Gerolsteiner offers refreshment, hydration, and effervescence without added calories, sugars or artificial sweeteners, caffeine, artificial flavors or colors, or other ingredients often found in energy and sports drinks. Minerals are essential for optimum muscle function and pH balance and yet our bodies cannot manufacture them – we need to consume them daily. Gerolsteiner contains calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonate – essential minerals for all aspects of physical activity.
