FIFA 2014 World Cup Final Draw starts at 11am Eastern

Dec 6 2013, 9:09am CST | by

The FIFA 2014 World Cup Draw is today at 11am ET. The World Cup Draw is a big TV show with soccer stars and performances. The event is televised around the globe and also streamed online.

The FIFA World Cup Draw has started at the Costa do Sauipe resort in Brazil. The World Cup Draw is a big show. There is live coverage on TV and also live streams are available from TV stations around the world. The World Cup Draw will be televised in 193 countries. Many of the TV stations will also stream the draw online on their web sites. In the US the Draw show is live on ESPN2 and WatchESPN. In the UK you can watch Sky Sports 1 and BBC Two. The depending on the channel the access of the stream is free. In the US you need to have an ESPN account.

The FIFA site has also live blog about the Final Draw here.

The drawing decides which of the 32 teams play in the 8 groups against each other. Football fans know that the draw can be crucial in advancing to the next round in the World Cup. The World Cup Draw show will feature entertainment performances and many international soccer stars are at hand to do the drawing. Uruguay legend Alcides Ghiggia, Englishman Geoff Hurst, former Brazil captain Cafu, Italy’s Fabio Cannavaro, Argentina’s Mario Kempes, Spain’s Fernando Hierro, French legend Zinedine Zidane and German great Lothar Matthaus.

The United States are also in the World Cup 2014. Under German couch Klinsmann everything is possible for the US team.

The Final Draw is actually quite complicated procedure. You have the 8 seed teams Brazil, Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and Uruguay. Then you have three other pots Pot 2: Algeria, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Chile and Ecuador, Pot 3: Australia, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico and USA and Pot 4: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, England, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia.

The FIFA explains the procedure like this: "The teams in Pot 1 will be automatically assigned position 1 in the groups in which they are drawn. The first step of the draw will be to pick out a team from Pot 4 – the only one with nine teams – and put that side into Pot 2, in order to ensure each zone has eight balls. Then it will be back to Pot 1 and Brazil will be placed into Group A, with the rest of the seeds drawn in position 1 of the remaining groups, consecutively up to the letter H.

Pot 2, now with teams from three different confederations, increases the risk of breaking the rule of geographical separation. In order to avoid a group with three European teams, there will be a Pot X featuring the four seeded South American teams. One ball will be drawn from this pot and this will determine the group for the sole European team in Pot 2. Then, Pot 2 will be drawn. The European team will go into the group already established, with the remaining sides fitting sequentially into Groups A to H.

It is also worth noting that some groups may be skipped to respect the rule of geographical separation. It is also worth noting that some groups may be skipped to respect the rule of geographical separation, in order to avoid Chile and Ecuador going into sectors featuring South American seeds. Pots 3 and 4 will then be drawn.

The position of the teams in the groups will also be drawn (except the seeds, as already mentioned)." I am lost. I just look at the end results and see what teams end up in the eight groups.

After Decades of Being the Same, Cup Holders Are Drastically Changed to Finally Make Sense - Beverages Are No Longer Held from the Bottom in Stationary Cylinder Openings
The Maksimatic Spill-Preventing Cup Holder uses centripetal force to prevent beverages from spilling utilizing a 360 degree swiveling joint which allows the cup holder cylinder openings to tilt up to a 27 degree angle full-circle. No other cup holder in the world achieves this let alone is designed to do anything like this. The Maksimatic is as reliable as the laws of physics themselves and changes a design used for decades. This seems to be the next logical step in cup holders.
