Team USA reaches to top 3 in Sochi 2014 Olympics medal ranking

After lots of hurdles, the US athletes have finally picked up the pace and they have reached to the top three positions in the Sochi Olympic 2014 medal rankings. While many people had lost hope on this big team, at I4U, we never gave up hope on them. We always had this anticipation that Team USA will gradually pick it up and get more medals for the USA. Although we had to face some disappointments from a few top favorites of Team USA in the beginning, most of the athletes have aced the competition and won lots of gold, silver as well as bronze medals.

At the current time, Team USA is proudly standing in the top three positions with a total of 15 medals. Among the 14 medals, they have got 4 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals. This brings their total score to 14 and they are equal with Netherlands who also got a total of 14 medals. On the top of medal rankings in Sochi, we have Russia with 15 medals and we are confident that Team USA will catch up with them very soon. Even though they do not have the competitive advantages of the Russian athletes like familiar environment and weather, they are still showing good progress.

Out of the 14 medals in the bag of Team USA, 2 gold medals came from Snowboarding which was always our favorite sport. Another gold medal for USA is from freestyle skiing. The American athletes also got 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in Freestyle Skiing as well. Although we had high hopes in Skeleton as well, we got one silver and one bronze medal from this sport event only. In addition to that, Team USA also packed one bronze medal in Snowboard, Figure Skating, Alpine Skiing and Luge. After a whole week since the Sochi 2014 Olympics kicked off, Team USA finally stood on a solid ground and we are optimistic that there are more medals to come in future events.

Among the top athletes who brought medals for USA recently, we have got Joss Christensen, who got the gold medal in Freestyle Skiing and Kaitlyn Farrington who got a gold medal in Snowboarding. Following them, we have Noelle Pikus-Pace, who got silver medal in Skeleton and Gus Kenworthy, who got silver medal in Freestyle Skiing. Then we have Nicholas Goepper, Kelly Clark and Erin Hamlin, who got a bronze medal in Freestyle Skiing, Snowboarding and Luge respectively.

Now that, we are standing in a good position, we are observing more confidence among the athletes and this is indeed a great motivation for the entire Team USA. Although many people were saying that the US athletes were jinxed in this event, they are also getting high hopes for the athletes. Even though, there were a few blunders for Team USA in Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics such as Shani Davis, We are sure that, things will get in favor of US athletes very soon and they will get on top of the medal ranking in no time.
