Team USA shares the top position in the Sochi 2014 medal ranking

Yes, it is true! Finally we can relax as Team USA has reached on top of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics , which is now being held in the city of Sochi in Russia. Even though there were a few hurdles in the way, Team USA has finally made it to the top in terms of medal counts. But this is not all. They are now sharing the top position in the medal ranking with our archival Russia. Things couldn’t get any more interesting and now we are excited to see who will win the race and which one will fall behind.

Now that Team USA has reached to the position that we have been praying for, we can breathe normally again. But the American athletes in Team USA are not taking it slightly. They are even more confident and motivated to sustain their supremacy and position in this race and they are already lined up to get more medals in the upcoming events. Alike them, we are also expecting the same and we certainly do not want fall behind from Russian athletes who are in better condition home ground comfort.

The achievement of being the number one came to the USA after a long time. Even though Sochi 2014 winter began on February 7, 2014, we were desperate to see some progress from Team USA. But we were only disappointed in the beginning as some of our favorite athletes disappointed us except for a few. For example, we were really frustrated to see Shani Davis, who was supposed to win the same event 4 times in a row. But things weren’t going as we expected and the people at I4U almost gave up hope for the nation. But gradually the Americans picked up the pace and now they are standing strong on the top of medal rankings and we are sure they will surely leave Russia behind.

At the current time, Team USA has 16 medals in the bag among which they have got four gold medals, four silver medals as well as 8 bronze medals. The Russian team also got the same number of medals among which they have got four gold medals, seven silver medals as well as five bronze medals. Next to them, there are three nations with 14 medals and they are Norway, Canada and Netherlands. Hence, we can say that this is still a close a race and each of them has an equal chance to top the ranking in no time.  It will take sheer enthusiasm, consistency and passion to get on top the ranking and remain there until the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics ends in the last week of February 2014.

So far, we can continue to enjoy this success and take the opportunity to thank our star athletes and their mates such as Kaitlyn Farrington, Joss Christensen, Noelle Pikus-Pace, Nicholas Goepper, Kelly Clark and Erin Hamlin, Gus Kenworthyand many others who have made it possible. Now that there are many more games to come, we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that Americans will ace the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia.
