Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club Announces New Head Golf Professional

Hilton Head Island, SC, May 17, 2014 --(PR.com )-- Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club on Hilton Head Island, SC, announced recently that Ben Smith has been named Head Golf Professional. Smith comes to this position after having served as First Assistant Golf Professional at Sea Pines Resort for the last two years.

Smith has a wide range of experience in the golf industry; he has relevant experience with member and corporate outings, merchandising, supervising a large golf staff and has held many leadership positions in Hilton Head Island’s local PGA chapter. For a year and half, Smith served as Sea Pines Resort Tournament Coordinator where he assisted with the RBC Heritage Tournament. Prior to his time at Sea Pines Resort, Smith worked for Crooked Stick Golf Club for two and half years, first as an Assistant Professional and then as their Golf Shop Manager. Smith graduated from Ball State University in 2007 and earned his Class A PGA Golf Professional status with the PGA of America in 2011.
