Taylor Swift’s “1989” tour is moving along successfully.
In her Friday performance at Staples Centers, fans were hugely surprised when they saw NBA superstar Kobe Bryant on the stage. Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant returned to his home court just to help Swift unveil her own banner at Staples Center.
“Shake it Off” singer has sold out performances at Staples Center for a record 16-times. It was Swift’s first performance in Los Angeles of 1989 tour. The rest of the four shows in Staples Center are also sold out.
“This is my 12th show at Staples Center, I love you,” Swift told the crowd. “This is one of those weeks that I’ve been counting down to, ever since we started planning the tour. Since before you knew what my album was gonna be called, we planned this tour, and I’ve been excited about these shows.”
Bryant was the second surprise guest of the Friday show. “One Republic” singer Ryan Tedder already had joined Swift on stage. Both sang the rock band’s “Counting Star.”
The 1989 world tour is Taylor Swift’s fourth tour to promote the namesake studio album. The tour began on May 5 in Tokyo and will continue through the year. Swift has been joined by many celebrities in various stops. Supermodels Kendall Jenner, Kara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid have made a number of appearances. Serena Williams, U.S. Women soccer team, Nick Jonas, Julia Roberts and Mark Walberg are also among who have joined Swift on the stage and danced along with her. Many more stars are expected to be a part of this epic tour.
